Day 3:  I'm now on Armour Thyroid 90mg. My brain fog is improving and I feel less groggy during the day. I'm hoping my sleep will improve so I'll be able to wake up on time for a change. 🤞 Next step is losing weight finally. Currently 198. Goal is 155 and then reevaluate to see if I should go lower.

1-15-19 Tuesday

Wt. - 163.4   Down 34.6 lbs Well, so much for being able to do regular updates guys.  I have been so busy with work and everything at home that I have forgot all about trying to post on here. The good news is that I have lost a lot more weight since I last posted.  As of January the 10th I am down to a 163.4 lbs.   I have lost almost 35 pounds from my peak weight.  My goal is still to get under 140.  I am finally able to wear a pair of blue jeans that I have had since October of 2012 and only wore just a few times.  You cannot imagine how happy I am about this!   I have been wearing simple cotton stretch pants for the past 6 years so I am ecstatic to be able to wear blue jeans again!  🤩   Don't give up on your weight loss goals people; you can do it!  Bare in mind, I have lost almost 35 pounds without exercising, only changing my diet.   That right there should be enough to motivate you becaus...

8-3-18 Friday

Wt. - 182.4    Down 15.6 lbs. First of all, I'm sorry I have not updated lately.   There has been a lot going on at home. So my current weight is 182.4  Which means I have lost about 10 more pounds since starting the thyroid medicine.   I have been going for follow-ups and weigh-ins every 4 weeks since April. Doc has also instructed me to reduce my sugar and carbohydrate intake as much as possible.   Come to find out, I have been getting over 600 calories from the sugar in the tea I drink every day.  And I get extra calories from putting sugar in my coffee.  He suggested that I try a sugar substitute.  I told him that I had tried several and they all give me migraines.  He then asked if I had tried Truvia (a Stevia sweetener).   He said that he also gets bad headaches from most artificial sweeteners, but he is able to use the Stevia without a problem.   I tried it and thankfully it worked!  ...

Day 58: 4-7-18 Saturday

Sorry for the lack of updates everyone.   Things have been more than a little hectic lately.  Thank God for this thyroid medicine or I don't know if I could have been dealing with it.   Long story short… the medicine has improved my overall well being.   My weight loss is still painfully slow however.  2 days ago I went to have blood drawn to see if the medicine needs to be adjusted.  I go back to the doctor 2 days from now for my results.  I personally think it does need  to be increased somewhat because although I feel better, I still don't feel that I am operating at a normal capacity for somebody my age.   Also I am keeping to a somewhat restricted calorie diet and therefore should be losing weight a little easier.  My dad who is also hypothyroid ask me what my dosage was.  When I told him they started me on 5 μg he looked surprised.   He said that when he was diagnosed, he was considered...

Day 8: 2-13-18 Tuesday

It's been 1 week today since starting Levo.  I still feel an overall improvement in my mood and energy level.  I actually have the energy to go throughout my day without constantly feeling overwhelmed with small tasks.  My sex drive has picked up.  I haven't felt like this in a long long time.  Actually in about 11-12 years if I had to guess.  I haven't weighed yet today.  I am hoping this renewed energy will help me lose weight.  I have hope again.  It's a great feeling!  I am starting to feel like the old me.  I have a "pep in my step" so to speak.  I woke up with a headache this morning, but I think that may be due to the weather.  After some coffee, a bagel, and 3 Advil it seems to be better.  I work the afternoon shift today.  Guess I need to get ready. Even my vision seems sharper.  Maybe it's the fact I don't feel like I'm in a fog all day long... like I'm a zombie.  It's a wonderful feeling to...

Day 4: 02-09-18 Friday

I continue my normal morning routine.  I am off work again today.  I feel better than I have felt in years.  I feel like I could be productive.  The night sweats are not as bad.  So far I feel like the medicine is having a positive effect even though it is a very low dose.  Even my bowels seem to be doing better.  I am going to the bathroom more frequently and it feels easier to go. I had 2 pig in a blankets and some rice pilaf for lunch.

Day 3: 02-08-18 Thursday

Wt: 184.0 - I am down 9 lbs.  I'm off work today.  I get up and take my Levo.  Again, I make sure to wait 30 minutes before having coffee and my allergy meds. I feel better this morning.  More alert.  I don't feel like I want to crawl in bed.  My mom calls and asks if I want to go run errands with her which will include a trip to Walmart for groceries.  Since I need to go anyway, I decide to.  Amazingly, I do really well.  We go to the pet store, Walgreens, another store, and to Walmart.  Normally a trip to Walmart alone exhausts me, but this time I am able to run all these errands much more easily.  When we get home, I begin preparing supper without feeling like I need a nap first.  It has been years since I have been able to do all this in one day without feeling like I would pass out.  Even my thoughts seem more clear... like a fog is lifting.  We have supper, and I clean up all the dishes without help.  A...
